Yuto Shimamura is an Assistant Professor at Showa University Koto-Toyosu Hospital in Tokyo, Japan. He completed his internal medicine and gastroenterology residency training at St. Luke's International University in Tokyo. He undertook further training in advanced therapeutic endoscopy at St. Michael's Hospital, University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada. After completing his advanced fellowship in Toronto, he joined his current group at Showa University led by Professor Haruhiro Inoue. His current clinical and teaching interests are image enhanced endoscopy, endocyotoscopy for upper GI tract and minimally invasive treatments including ESD (Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection), POEM (Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy), POET (Peroral Endoscopic Tumor Resection), ARMS (Anti-Reflux Mucosal Resection) and ARMA (Anti-Reflux Mucosal Ablation) for gastroesophageal reflux disease.
